The example hospital indemnity insurance policy pays a $3,000 benefit upon hospital admission.  Any newborn children will be automatically covered for the first 30 days.  Hospital indemnity insurance may pay an additional benefit for each infant that is born and spends time in the neonatal intensive care unit for medical reasons.
